Pop star P!nk revealed on Friday that she has recovered from COVID-19.
The 40-year-old singer said she tested positive two weeks ago after both she and her son Jameson, 3, showed symptoms.
“My family was already sheltering at home and we continued to do so for the last two weeks following the instruction of our doctor,” P!nk shared in a social media post. “Just a few days ago we were re-tested and are now thankfully negative.”
In recent days, the music world has lost Adam Schlesinger, Alan Merrill and Joe Diffie to complications from COVID-19. Singers Christopher Cross and Sara Bareilles said they tested positive and Canadian singer-actor Nick Cordero was hospitalized with symptoms of the virus.
P!nk used her platform to call out the U.S. government for not making testing for COVID-19 more widely available. “It is an absolute travesty and failure,” she fumed.
“This illness is serious and real. People need to know that the illness affects the young and old, healthy and unhealthy, rich and poor, and we must make testing free and more widely accessible to protect our children, our families, our friends and our communities.”

Dr. Tony Reed, chief medical officer at Temple University Hospital expressed gratitude in a tweet. “I want to thank you on behalf of our staff, physicians, and patients,” he wrote to P!nk. “We wish you and your family well and are forever in your debt.”
In her social media posts, P!nk urged people to follow social isolation directives. “These next two weeks are crucial,” she wrote. “Please stay home. Please. Stay. Home.”
