Panic! At The Disco frontman Brendon Urie was honoured over the weekend at the Australian LGBTI Awards.
The singer was named the winner of the International Icon award at the gala, which is part of the annual Sydney Mardi Gras festival.
Urie, who was not on hand to accept the award, beat out nominees like Elton John, Lady Gaga, P!NK, Cher, Boy George and Lady Gaga.
In an interview with Paper magazine last year, Urie described himself as pansexual – which is defined as an attraction to people regardless of sex or gender identity.

Five years earlier, the singer told Pride Source: “I find myself being attracted to dudes all the time. I’m like, ‘Wow, that’s a beautiful man.’ There’s no shame in it. That’s how I feel.”
In a 2013 tweet, Urie shared: “Got called a ‘fa**ot' by some sweet bros while skating in Venice today. Was it what I was wearing? Or the d**k in my mouth?”
Urie, who married Sarah Orzechowski in April 2013, wrote the Panic! song “Girls/Girls/Boys” as a bisexual anthem. He has also been a visible advocate for LGBT equality and pledged $1 million U.S. through his foundation to support gay-straight alliances at high schools.
