Post Malone is partnering with Vault Comics and Platinum Dunes producers Michael "Mr. Explosions" Bay and Brad Fuller to create cinematic universe based on the rapper's original story.
Deadline reports describes the universe as "blending elements of road thrillers like Mad Max: Fury Road, and demonic horror like Evil Dead, Post Malone‘s story is set in medieval Europe, where the only thing standing in the way of the horde of demons infesting the continent is a mysterious armored 18-wheeler seemingly sent back from the heavens."
In a statement, Post Malone share his excitement about the project, saying, “I’m so pumped to share this badass story with the world, and I couldn’t ask for better partners than Michael Bay and Vault to help bring this story to life."
The story will first launch as a graphic novel published by Vault some time in 2025, with Post Malone, Vault and Platinum Dunes working to adapt it for a feature film.
Adds Michael Bay, director of the Transformers film series, “I love working with talented people, and Post Malone is incredibly gifted. I am excited to work with him on such an intriguing idea, and when you add Vault to the mix, it raises the bar to another level. This new IP is just what the graphic world needs right now.”
Post Malone is no stranger to the cinematic world. Recently he made a cameo in Amazon Prime's Road House, and appeared in Spenser Confidential alongside Mark Wahlberg, Wrath of Man with Jason Statham and voiced a mutant mantaray in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. According to his IMDb page, he will also appear in Dear Santa next Christmas, where Jack Black plays Satan, and Jennifer Lopez's new Prime Video feature, This Is Me…Now: The Film.
