One of the year’s most anticipated music films, the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, will have its world premiere where the band’s late frontman Freddie Mercury gave one of his most iconic performances.
20th Century Fox said the film will debut at the SSE Arena, Wembley in London on Oct. 23.
Mercury gave memorable and thrilling performances at the adjacent Wembley Stadium. The band's 1985 Live Aid concert was considered its rebirth after an early-80s lull, and its 1986 Queen at Wembley concert film is one of the most enduring snapshots of the band at its zenith.
“Guests and fans will be welcomed to the iconic venue to celebrate the highly anticipated release of Bohemian Rhapsody, walking the red carpet alongside stars of the film...[and] Queen legends Brian May and Roger Taylor," the studio said, in a release.
But the event will also honour Mercury's memory by benefitting the Mercury Phoenix Trust, an organization founded on behalf of the singer which supports global HIV/AIDS initiatives.
The original Wembley Stadium was demolished in 2003.
Bohemian Rhapsody will be released on Nov. 2.
