Queens Of The Stone Age cancelled their concert at Edmonton, AB's Rogers Place last night (April 2) just as they were set to take the stage.
Following a set by opening act The Struts, an announcement was made over the speaker that the Palm Desert-based headliners were no longer going to perform.
"Queens Of The Stone Age regret to announce we are no longer able to perform tonight due to illness," the statement read. "We are not able to give you the show you deserved or the show we wanted to give you. Ticket holders will be contacted by the official point of purchase with further information."
A video posted to X (aka Twitter) of the cancellation being announced shows fans booing loudly and the venue at half-full capacity.
Responses to social posts by the band and Rogers Place drew many comments from fans, who questioned everything from frontman Josh Homme's health following cancer treatment last year, to a possible injury from jumping into the drumkit at the previous night's show in Calgary, to the fact that floor seats had been greatly reduced due to reported poor ticket sales.
Last summer, Queens Of The Stone Age abruptly cancelled their concert in Sao Paulo, Brazil due to health reasons, which drew the ire of Brazilian fans who didn't exactly handle it well.
