Rage Against the Machine announced late Thursday it is postponing the first leg of its Public Service Announcement Tour due to COVID-19.
Shows in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary in early May will be moved to other dates.
In a statement shared via social media, RATM said the decision was “due to the current outbreak and ban on public gatherings.”
The band said “the safety and health of those who come to our shows is of utmost importance to us.”
Tickets for shows between March 26 and May 20th will be honoured at newly scheduled shows. “We will be in touch soon about rescheduled dates,” read the statement.
RATM said its July and August tour dates – including Ottawa, Hamilton, Toronto and Quebec City – are not affected. The band came under fire last month for the price of tickets to its shows.
Zack de la Rocha, Tim Commerford, Tom Morello and Brad Wilk, who haven’t performed together since 2011, were set to headline this year's Coachella festival, which was postponed to October due to COVID-19.
