Shawn Mendes must be wondering why his fans are not feeling “Wonder.”
The title track from the Canadian singer’s fourth album fell four spots to No. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 in its second week and 11 spots to No. 15 on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100.
The charts are based on data for sales, streams and radio airplay.
According to Billboard, the biggest drop for "Wonder" was in sales. It plummeted from No. 5 to No. 42 in its second week on the Digital Songs chart and from No. 16 to No. 29 on the Streaming Songs chart – but went up five spots to No. 33 on the Radio Songs chart.
In the UK, “Wonder” debuted at No. 21 and dropped down to No. 27, according to Official Charts.
“Wonder,” which was released on Oct. 2 after several days of social media hype, debuted at No. 18 in the U.S. and at No. 4 in Canada. It is Mendes’ 14th song on the Hot 100.
Mendes has previously had four solo songs in the Top 10 but none made it to the top spot, though “If I Can’t Have You” came close in May 2019 when it reached No. 2. His only No. 1 is his collaboration with Camila Cabello, “Señorita,” which topped the Hot 100 in August 2019.
Mendes' Netflix documentary In Wonder premieres Nov. 23 and Wonder, the album, is scheduled to drop Dec. 4.
