A new docuseries on the feud between Taylor Swift and music mogul Scooter Braun is currently being made.
The two-part documentary has been commissioned by Warner Bros. Discovery U.K. and Ireland, as part of its running 'vs' series. Previous instalments include Johnny vs. Amber, which detailed the legal battle between former couple Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, and Kim vs. Kanye: The Divorce, about the tumultous marriage between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.
Under the working title of Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood, the series will examine the fallout between the two after the rights to Swift's first six albums were sold to Braun for a reported $300 million. The sale inspired Swift to re-record those albums and release them as "Taylor's Versions." Legal experts, journalists and parties for both Swift and Braun will present each side of the argument.
In a statement, the network said, “True to the ‘vs’ format, the two episodes will examine the opposing sides of the argument; one exploring Swift’s side that the sale was conducted without consulting her and that she has since been blocked from buying back her masters, and the other examining Braun’s allegations that Swift refused to negotiate and instead incited a public feud by pitting her fan base against him,."
“Taylor Swift’s dispute with Scooter Braun over the ownership of her music exploded into the mainstream, taking contract law from boardroom to social media and into public interest,” adds Charlotte Reid, VP of commissioning for WBD UK’s networks and streaming. “It’s a high-profile, high-interest story that opened debate on fandom and dominated headlines, one which will resonate with our viewers who are highly engaged with access-led documentaries like ‘vs’, which continues to be a popular format on Discovery+.”
Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood will premiere in the U.K. and Ireland on Discovery+ some time in June.
