The Black Keys have fired their management team following the cancellation of their North American tour.
Two weeks ago the Akron, OH band abruptly cancelled their International Players Tour that was set to kick off in September. Days later they released an explanation explaining that they were planning to "offer a similarly exciting, intimate experience for both fans and the band" some point soon.
The New York Times reports that the Black Keys - Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney - have “amicably parted" with managers Irving Azoff and Steve Moir, who began working together three years ago.
While fans wait for an announcement for the promised rescheduled dates, the Black Keys join Jennifer Lopez as another high profile act to cancel or postpone a major North American tour due to allegedly poor ticket sales.
Update: Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney posted a brief message to X about the matter, explaining, "We got f**ked. I’ll let you all know how so it doesn’t happen to you. Stay tuned."
We got fucked. I’ll let you all know how so it doesn’t happen to you. Stay tuned.
