As a dispute with his eldest son plays out in public, rocker Tommy Lee said Wednesday he's getting off social media.
“See ya later social media! Can’t read anymore liesss,” the 55-year-old Mötley Crüe drummer tweeted.
Lee took a parting shot at his son Brandon, who he earlier accused of assault.
“LMAAAO!!!! I’m happier than I’ve been in my entire life. I have a few drinks here & there because I’m f**kin retired and enjoying my life. I worked 30+ f**kin years I deserve it,” he tweeted, in response to a public statement from Brandon.
Tommy’s 21-year-old son with Canadian star Pamela Anderson told People he is “devastated” by the drama, which he blamed on “my father’s alcoholism.”
Brandon said: “I’ve worked tirelessly organizing an intervention and it’s incredibly upsetting that it never came to fruition. I wanted my dad’s hopeful sobriety and recovery to be a private family matter but, as a result of his accusations on social media, I feel forced to speak out. I have and will continue to cooperate with law enforcement as needed. I love my father and just want to see him sober, happy and healthy.”
Tommy fired back on Twitter: “You didn’t arrange any intervention, you barely spoke to me while u were here. Just coverin ur ass!!”
MORE: Tommy Lee Accuses Son Of Assault
Earlier this week, Tommy posted – and then deleted – a photo of his bloody lip on Instagram with the caption: “My heart is broken. You can give your kids everything they could ever want in their entire lives and they can still turn against you. Good job Brandon. Great son!”
TMZ reported that Brandon punched his father in self-defence during a fight at Tommy’s home on Monday night.
Tommy called the report “bulls**t” in a tweet. “My fiancé and I were in bed when my son busted into the room and assaulted me. I asked him to leave the house and he knocked me unconscious. He ran away from the police. THAT’S the truth.”
According to reports, Brandon was defending his mother after Tommy tweeted reactions to a recent interview she gave to Piers Morgan. Anderson recalled abuse she suffered while married to the drummer.
Anderson is backing up her son. “I stand beside my son who acted out of self defense and was scared for his life," she wrote on her website. "Nobody understands the lifetime of disappointment [Tommy] has brought our family. Consistently the centre of sadness, drama and confusion. Jealous of his sons talent and beauty from the day they were born. He is sick. The definition of narcissist/sociopath."
Police are investigating the altercation but no arrest has been made.
Lee recently got engaged to Brittany Furlan, 31. It will be his fourth marriage.
