Alanis Morissette did her best to disguise herself as a busker on a New York City subway platform for a segment that aired Wednesday on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Of course, no one was really fooled because Fallon has staged the segment many times before with different artists – not to mention the presence of camera operators, bodyguards and a consent-to-be-recorded sign.
After a quick version of “The Little Drummer Boy,” the pair shed their disguises and Morissette belted out her hit “You Oughta Know.”
The Canadian singer is in New York City for tonight’s Broadway opening of Jagged Little Pill, a rock musical inspired by the songs on her 1995 breakthrough album of the same name.
On Monday, Morissette announced that she will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the album next year with a tour (she plays Toronto on July 11). She will also release her ninth studio album, “Such Pretty Forks in the Road” on May 1.
