A video clip of a young boy singing “10,000 Hours” by Dan + Shay ft. Justin Bieber to his little brother is melting the hearts of millions of people around the world this week.
“I’d spend 10,000 hours, and 10,000 more, if that’s what it takes to learn that sweet heart of yours,” six-year-old Rayce Powell sings while holding Tripp, who was born with Down syndrome, in his arms.
Nicole Powell of Cabot, Arkansas shared the special moment on Facebook on Dec. 30. “This is how Rayce bonds with Tripp,” she explained. “He sings to him all the time. He swear[s] this song is about him and his brother.”
Dan + Shay are among those who watched the clip. In an Instagram post this week, the country duo called it “just the sweetest, most heartwarming video ever.”
They added: “We’ve been watching on repeat and smiling every time.”
On Jan. 5, Powell admitted on Facebook she “had no idea why such a little video of two brothers bonding went world wide” but added that mothers and moms-to-be of children with Down syndrome have been reaching out to her. She said she is “grateful to have the opportunity to share awareness.”
Powell has set up a "TeamTripp" Facebook page with updates about the boy’s health. Late Tuesday, Tripp was back in hospital.
