Fans are giving thanks as they head into the Canadian holiday weekend with a gift from Harry Styles – a brand new song called “Lights Up.”
With only a bit of teasing, the uplifting track premiered overnight. It’s the first new music from Styles in two years and will appear on his sophomore solo album.
“Shine / Step into the light / It’s so bright sometimes / I’m not ever going back,” he sings.
The song came with a sexy, sweaty video in which Styles experiences euphoria with a group of people. The visual was shot in Cancun, Mexico in early August.
Fans suspected something was coming this week when they discovered the website DoYouKnowWhoYouAre.com, where they could receive a random compliment signed “Love, H.”

There’s been no title or official release date announced for the new album but Styles’ friend Stevie Nicks has heard it and recently told The Face: “It’s not like anything One Direction ever did. It’s pure Harry, as Harry would say. He’s made a very different record and it’s spectacular.”
In an interview published by Rolling Stone in August, the 25-year-old returned to the Malibu studio where he recorded his new album. "Ah, yes. Did a lot of mushrooms in here," he recalled. "This is where I was standing when we were doing mushrooms and I bit off the tip of my tongue. So I was trying to sing with all this blood gushing out of my mouth. So many fond memories, this place."
"Lights Up" premiered exactly one week after Styles' former One Direction mate Niall Horan debuted his new single, "Nice To Meet Ya."
