Justin Timberlake and Canada’s Ryan Gosling could both become Oscar winners on Sunday night — more than 20 years after they worked and lived together!
Timberlake is nominated in the Best Original Song category for co-writing “Can’t Stop The Feeling” (from the animated film Trolls) with Max Martin and Karl Johan Schuster. (Timberlake will perform the hit song during the show.)

Gosling is up for Best Actor for playing a jazz musician in La La Land. He was previously nominated for an Oscar, in the same category, in 2006 for his role in Half Nelson.
The two 36-year-olds (Gosling is two months older than Timberlake) were both on The All New Mickey Mouse Club from 1993 to 1995 — along with castmates Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and JC Chasez.

During the second season of MMC, Gosling’s mother Donna returned to Canada for her job, leaving her son in Orlando in the care of Timberlake’s mother Lynn.
“My mom was his guardian for like six months,” Timberlake recalled during an appearance on Ellen. “So we actually lived together.
“We were probably a little closer than the rest of the kids that were on the show just because we had to share a bathroom.”
The two stars have kept in touch in the years since MMC, but Timberlake recently told The Hollywood Reporter “we aren’t the closest of friends, for whatever reason.” On Ellen, he blamed it on their schedules. “It’s hard to keep up to him,” said Timberlake.
Gosling said pretty much the same thing in an interview with E! Online.
"We don't really talk. It's like high school,” he explained. “You have great friends and then you get older and you just have your own lives. He's very supportive of me, and I'm very, very supportive of him and extremely proud of him. But he's busy.”
If Gosling wins the Oscar on Sunday night, Timberlake won’t be surprised.
“He’s always been that charismatic and talented,” he said on Ellen. “I think he’s one of the best actors of our generation, for sure.”
In case there’s no red carpet reunion with Timberlake and Gosling at the Oscars, we’ll have to settle for these MMC memories:
Check out Timberlake and Gosling getting musical advice from ‘90s act Xscape.
Here they are in a music video for a song called “Can We Talk?”
Gosling and Timberlake perform a track called “Cry For You” (along with Timberlake’s future ‘NSYNC mate JC Chasez).
Check out Gosling and Timberlake in a sketch for “Lunchbox Helper.” Yes, Gosling’s picnic date is none other than Christina Aguilera.
