Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello on Friday debuted “Señorita,” a catchy duet that comes with a steamy video that has fans saying “Ooh la la.”
Directed by Dave Meyers, the video has Mendes’ motorcycle-riding character showing up at the diner where Cabello’s character works as a waitress and reminding her of what they had.
He waits for her behind the restaurant and they ride off into the night, share a dance and supposedly reconnect in a hotel room (oddly, Mendes is still wearing his jeans after the alleged romp).
“You say that we're just friends but friends don't know the way you taste,” Cabello sings.
Adding to the video’s muy caliente intrigue, the pair never actually kiss.
Still, fans are loving the chemistry between Mendes, 19, and Cabello, 22, even though both have repeatedly said they have never dated.
“A thing? No we weren’t actually,” Mendes told People in 2016. Appearing together on The Late Late Show with James Corden in 2015, both denied they were more than friends. “He has never tried to make a move,” Cabello insisted.
"Señorita" is the second collaboration by Mendes and Cabello, following 2015's "I Know What You Did Last Summer."
Mendes is currently on his world tour, which comes to Ottawa on Aug. 18 and Montreal on Aug. 20 and 21. He’ll do his first stadium concert on Sept. 6 in Toronto before heading overseas.
