The Weeknd continues the theme of his videos “Heartless” and “Blinding Lights” in a short film that shares the title of his new album After Hours.
Directed by Anton Tammi, the video begins with the Canadian singer looking happy after performing “Blinding Lights” at a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live! before heading out to the street and into a subway station.
That’s when things get dark. (Note to self: Don’t share an elevator with The Weeknd.)
The Weeknd is the musical guest on this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live. After Hours, his fourth studio album and first since 2016's Starboy, drops on March 20.
He will kick off a summer tour with two shows in Vancouver on June 11 and 12 followed by stops in Edmonton (June 14), Winnipeg (June 17), Toronto (June 29, 30 and Aug. 31) and Montreal (July 2).
