YUNGBLUD has added “Strawberry Lipstick” to this summer’s fruit-flavoured soundtrack, which includes “Watermelon Sugar” by Harry Styles and “Pomegranate” by deadmau5 + The Neptunes.
“This is a song about a person I love,” the 22-year-old, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, screams into a microphone before the punk-infused song gets going.
"They're gonna lock me in the closet but I'm coming out / Saying f**k all the oppression and the self doubt,” sings YUNGBLUD. “I’m gonna bite all of your fingers, put 'em in my mouth / I’m on my knees.”
YUNGBLUD wears several different outfits – including a Union Jack dress – and sports liberty spikes in the video, which was directed by Christian Breslauer and features singer Jesse Jo Stark.
Not surprisingly, a lot of strawberries were harmed in the making of the video.
“Strawberry Lipstick” will be included on YUNGBLUD’s forthcoming sophomore album.
