The late Whitney Houston is among the finalists for induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next year.
It’s the first time Houston, who died in 2012, has been in the running for induction. Her self-titled debut album as released in 1985 and she went on to release six more studio albums.
Houston’s hits include “How Will I Know,” “Greatest Love of All,” “Saving All My Love For You,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me),” “So Emotional,” “Where Do Broken Hearts Go” and “I’m Your Baby Tonight."
The R&B/pop singer is nominated along with Rufus ft. Chaka Khan, T.Rex and acts like Judas Priest and Motörhead.
The acts chosen for induction next May will be announced in January.
The Hall of Fame considers artists and bands that released their first commercial recording at least 25 years ago. Inductees are chosen by more than 1,000 artists, historians and music industry insiders.
