LISTEN: The Weeknd Debuts 'Blinding Lights'

weeknd

The Weeknd has dropped “Blinding Lights,” his second new song this week.

“Sin city’s cold and empty / No one’s around to judge me,” he sings. “I can’t see clearly when you’re gone / I said ohhhh I’m blinded by the lights.”

The Weeknd co-wrote the track with fellow Canadians and frequent collaborators Jason Quenneville (aka DaHeala) and Ahmad Balshe (aka Belly).

It follows “Heartless,” which was released on Wednesday.

The Weeknd was recently spotted filming a video for "Blinding Lights" in Las Vegas.

The Weeknd's most recent studio album, Starboy, was released in November 2016 but he kept fans satisfied by dropping the EP My Dear Melancholy last year. This year, he appeared on the Gesaffelstein track “Lost in the Fire” and with SZA and Travis Scott on “Power Is Power.”

“Blinding Lights” is featured in a commercial for the Mercedes Benz EQC 400 that stars The Weeknd. The company released an extended version on Friday.
