Organizers have pulled the plug on Revolution Festival, a charity event that was set to take place Saturday in Toronto.

The day-long event at the 401 Mini Indy was scheduled to feature performances by acts like Stereos, Valdii and Sebastian Javier.

A lack of ticket sales is being blamed for the cancellation. Prices ranged from $10 to $20 with proceeds going to jack.org, which describes itself as “Canada's only charity training and empowering young leaders to revolutionize mental health.”

A Facebook event page for Revolution Festival has been deleted. According to a message on the ticket-selling website Showpass, refunds have been issued.

Meanwhile, the Atomic Musicfest in Elliot Lake, Ont. was officially scrapped Tuesday after being postponed from its scheduled Aug. 9-11 run.

In a Facebook post, promoter Corey McKenzie blamed “funding” for the decision. He explained: "It was believed that some more time would have been able to correct the issues … Unfortunately, this is not panning out and the issues still remain, so it is being confirmed that the festival is being cancelled.”

McKenzie said refunds will be issued by the end of September.

Atomicfest was set to feature several heavy metal tribute bands and promised to donate 50 per cent of profits to non-profit organization in the community.

It’s been a rough summer for music festivals in Ontario with the cancellation of Roxodus in Clearview Township, Hair in the Fair in Welland, and Throwback Fest in Kitchener. All cited poor ticket sales.
