Canadian rocker Bryan Adams says he will perform next month in front of up to 12,000 fans in Düsseldorf, Germany.
According to promoter Live Nation, the Sept. 4th Give Live a Chance concert at the Merkur Spiel-Arena is the first event of its kind in Germany since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
“I’m playing acoustically – on my own / no band,” Adams explained in an Instagram post.
The 60-year-old will headline an outdoor show that includes performances by Sarah Conner, Rea Garvey, The BossHoss, Joris and Michael Mittermeier.
Fans will have to provide contact information when purchasing tickets and confirm that they do not have COVID-19 symptoms and have not been in contact with an infected person in at least two weeks. Groups will be limited to 10 people or less and fans will be seated 1.5 metres apart and required to wear masks at all times. Alcohol will not be allowed.

One health official told Bild it was “simply irresponsible” to bring thousands of people together. Germany’s ban on large events is in effect until the end of October but there are exceptions.
In May, Adams complained about having to cancel his live shows. “Thanks to some f**king bat eating, wet market animal selling, virus making greedy bastards, the whole world is now on hold,” he fumed.
After being slammed as racist on social media, Adams shared a new message: “Apologies to any and all that took offence to my posting yesterday. No excuse, I just wanted to have a rant about the horrible animal cruelty in these wet-markets being the possible source of the virus, and promote veganism.”
