Kelly Clarkson’s estranged husband Brandon Blackstock is reportedly seeking $436,000 (all figures U.S.) a month from the singer.
According to People, the 43-year-old music manager wants $301,000 in spousal support and $135,000 a month in child support – a total of more than $5.2 million per year. Blackstock also wants Clarkson to pay his legal fees, which have already reached $2 million.
When Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in June, she indicated that the couple had a prenuptial agreement and she would not have to provide him with spousal support.
In late October, a judge awarded Clarkson primary custody of the couple’s children River, 6, and Remington, 4. Blackstock, who lives in Montana, must travel to Los Angeles for “visitation and parenting time.”
The judge also opined that the “level of conflict” between Clarkson and Blackstock means they will have “a difficult time co-parenting due to issues of trust between them.”
In September, Clarkson was sued by Starstruck Management Group in Los Angeles Superior Court. The company, which has repped Clarkson for 13 years, alleged she owes $1.4 million in commissions. Starstruck is operated by Blackstock’s father Narvel Blackstock.
“I mean, it’s no secret my life has been a little bit of a dumpster,” the singer said in an interview with Today. “Personally, it’s been a little hard.”
