With only one day to go before the official release of Chromatica, Lady Gaga has released her collaboration with K-pop group BLACKPINK, “Sour Candy.”
The track is one of 16 on Gaga’s sixth studio album and follows “Stupid Love” and “Rain on Me" – the latter featuring Ariana Grande.
“I’m sour candy / So sweet then I get a little angry,” rap BLACKPINK’s Jennie and Lisa at the beginning of the song. “I’m super psycho / Make you crazy when I turn the lights low.”
Gaga sings: "I'm hard on the outside but if you give me time / Then I can make time for your love."
The collaboration was revealed when U.S. retailer Target posted the Chromatica tracklist on its website. Gaga later confirmed the tracklist.
The pop superstar told Japan’s TV Groove about working with BLACKPINK. “We had a great time together with this song," she said. "I was excited to hear them interpret the song in Korean."
Chromatica was originally scheduled to drop on April 10 but was pushed to May 29 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Little Monsters are now waiting for word on the fate of Gaga’s Chromatica Ball, which is scheduled to roll into Toronto’s Rogers Centre on Aug. 9.
