Megan Thee Stallion opened up Monday about getting shot earlier this month but avoided naming the person who shot her.
“I was shot in both of my feet, and I had to get surgery to get the s**t taken out, get the bullets taken out, and it was super scary,” the rapper said during an Instagram Live.
Fighting tears, the 25-year-old – whose real name is Megan Pete – recalled the frightening incident early on July 12 in Los Angeles. Police investigating a shooting outside a house party pulled over the SUV carrying Stallion, an unidentified woman and Canadian rapper-singer Tory Lanez.
Stallion was taken to hospital after officers saw injuries to her feet and Lanez was arrested on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon. Initial reports said Stallion had suffered cuts to her foot, possibly from broken glass, but she went on social media to reveal she had been intentionally shot.
“I’m incredibly grateful to be alive and that I’m expected to make a full recovery,” she explained at the time, “but it was important for me to clarify the details about this traumatic night.”
On Monday, Stallion said the incident "the worst experience of my life, and it’s not funny. It’s nothing to joke about and it’s nothing for y’all to go and be making fake stories about. I didn’t put my hands on nobody. I didn’t deserve to get shot.”
The rap star said bullets did not hit bones or tendons in her feet.
Stallion went on an expletive-filled rant about men who made light of what happened. “What if your … sister got shot? What if your … girlfriend got shot? What if your … best friend got shot? Would you be crackin’ jokes then?”
