Miley Cyrus has announced that her new album, titled Plastic Hearts, will be out Nov. 27.
In a message to fans, the 27-year-old singer explained why it has taken three years to put out her seventh studio album.
“I began this album over 2 years ago,” she wrote. “Thought I had it all figured out. Not just the record – its songs/sounds but my whole f**king life. Just when I thought the body of work was finished it was ALL erased. Including most of the music’s relevance. Because EVERYTHING had changed.”
Cyrus said the fire that ripped through her California house in November 2018 “did what I now see as a favour and destroyed what I couldn’t let go of for myself.”
Plastic Hearts will include “Midnight Sky,” which Cyrus released in August. She has since earned acclaim for her covers of Blondie's "Heart of Glass," the Cranberries' "Zombie" and Pearl Jam's "Just Breathe."
