6ix9ine blasted a charitable organization on Tuesday for rejecting his $200,000 U.S. donation.
In a since-deleted Instagram post, the rapper, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, said No Kids Hungry would “rather take food out [of] the mouth of these innocent children” and called the decision “cruel.”
6ix9ine announced his donation in an earlier post – which has also been deleted. “NEVER forget the children & families who depend on OUR PUBLIC schools for daily meals and nutritions to keep our future leaders growing to their best potential,” he wrote.
In a statement to media, a rep for No Kids Hungry said: “We are grateful for Mr Hernandez's generous offer to donate to No Kid Hungry but we have informed his representatives that we have declined this donation. As a child-focused campaign, it is our policy to decline funding from donors whose activities do not align with our mission and values.”
6ix9ine pleaded guilty in 2015 to using a child in a sexual performance and received three years probation. He had been facing three charges related to acts involving a 13-year-old girl.
Last month, 6ix9ine was granted an early release from prison due to the COVID-19 outbreak. For the next four months, the 24-year-old will wear an ankle monitor and can only leave his house to receive medical attention or to meet with his lawyer.
He was in prison serving a two-year sentence that ends July 31. 6ix9ine was arrested in 2018 on firearms and racketeering charges. Facing 47 years behind bars, he agreed to plead guilty to nine charges and to testify against alleged Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods members Anthony Ellison and Aljermiah Mack.
