Lil Pump reportedly didn’t bother to cast a vote for Donald Trump, despite publicly endorsing the incumbent president in the weeks leading up the U.S. election.
According to the Miami-Dade County Elections Department, as reported by The Smoking Gun, the rapper – whose real name is Gazzy Garcia – was not registered to vote.
The 20-year-old’s principal residence is in Miami Beach. To vote in the Nov. 3 election, Florida residents had until Oct. 5 to register.
Lil Pump, best known for 2017’s “Gucci Gang” and 2018’s “I Love It” ft. Kanye West, went public with his support for Trump in an Instagram Story on Oct. 26 in which he declared: “F**k Sleepy Joe, n***a! Trump 2020, b**ch!”
The same day, he posted an image on Instagram in which he is Photoshopped into a 2017 photo showing Trump shaking hands with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. He captioned it: “THE DAY I MET TRUMP.”
On Instagram, he posted a photo showing himself wearing a Trump campaign cap surrounded by women holding up a Trump flag as well as a photo of he and UFC fighter Colby Covington wearing MAGA hats.
At Trump’s final campaign rally, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Lil Pump was described by the president as “one of the big superstars of the world” and then called him “Little Pimp.” Trump asked: “Does everyone know who he is? Do you know how big he is?”
Lil Pump came to the mic and inexplicably thanked Trump for “bringing the troops home” (U.S. military expert Michael O’Hanlon told BBC News that troops “remain everywhere that we were on January 20, 2017 when he took office”) before telling the crowd: “Do not vote for Sleepy Joe… at all!”
Another rapper who showed support for Trump but apparently didn’t vote for him is Lil Wayne. The Smoking Gun reported that the Miami-Dade County Elections Department confirmed the rapper, whose real name is Dwayne Carter Jr., was not registered.
The 38-year-old tweeted a photo in late October showing him smiling and holding a thumb up next to Trump. Lil Wayne said he had “a great meeting” with Trump.
