With 25 days of summer left, BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez are serving up the sweet treat “Ice Creams,” complete with a retro-flavoured video.
Directed by Seo Hyun Seung, the video showcases Gomez and the girls of BLACKPINK – Lisa, Jisoo, Rosé and Jennie – in a variety of colourful looks. Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic means that Gomez and BLACKPINK never actually appear together (her scenes were shot in L.A., their scenes were shot in South Korea).
"Even in the sun you know I keep it icy / You could take a lick but it’s too cold to bite me," they sing. "Look so good yeah look so sweet / Looking good enough to eat."
“Ice Cream,” written by Ariana Grande and Victoria Monét, follows BLACKPINK’s collaboration with Lady Gaga, “Sour Candy,” and will be included on the group’s new album, out Oct. 2.
They are also hoping to take back the record for the most-watched music video on YouTube in 24 hours – a record held by “How You Like That” (86.3 million views) until BTS blew it away with “Dynamite” earlier this month (101.1 million).
