Waiter Gets Stiffed & Still Returns HUGE Travellers Check Left Behind
There are still good people out there.
For anyone that has worked in the service industry...you know it stings a little when you get stiffed on the check!
A New York City waiter recently returned a $424,000 cashier's check that a customer left behind at the restaurant. This customer also had left minutes before leaving exactly nothing as a tip.
Armando Markaj discovered a blank envelope while cleaning off a table at Patsy's Pizzeria. He ran out after the customer, but she was long gone.
Markaj decided to open the envelope to see if he could find any contact info...and inside he found a check for $424,000!!! Cha Ching!!
He then handed the check over to the owner of Patsy's, who contacted the New York Daily News and they helped them track down the woman!
The owner of said check was 79 year old Karen Vinacour, a retired social worker who came into some money after having a big apartment sale. She had said that the money was going to be used for a down payment on a new home.
Apparently Karen even apologized for not leaving Armando a tip, and offered one up. He declined the money, but accepted her apology.
Markaj is a medical student currently working his way through school.
What a good guy!
