Fyre Festival Flops After Reports of Hunger Games-like Conditions
All hell broke loose when Fyre Festival attendees took to social media to express how much of a struggle the event turned out to be. Many music fans paid between $1,000 to $12,000 for tickets to the festival that promised to be a luxury, two-weekend celebration in the Bahamas that would rival Coachella. However, in reality, the Fyre Festival turned out to be a sh*t show.
Hundreds compared the site to a battleground from The Hunger Games, and were housed in "disaster relief tents" and served bread and cheese in Styrofoam containers.
Scheduled as one of the headliners, Blink-182 pulled out of Fyre Festival tweeting, "We're not confident that we would have what we need to give you the quality of performances we always give our fans."
Organizers canceled the festival last minute and one of the show's organizers, rapper Ja Rule, took to Twitter to apologize to fans saying, "I truly apologize as this is NOT MY FAULT, but I'm taking responsibility."
Seeing is believing. Photos and full story here.
