WATCH: Bryan Bickell, Retiring Because of Multiple Sclerosis, Scores In His Final Game!
What a game in Philly yesterday.
Normally, you/I/we wouldn't care much about an early April game between the Philadelphia Flyers and Carolina Hurricanes, particularly with zero playoff implications. But Bryan Bickell got the callup for the Hurricanes this weekend, a final tour of duty for the NHLer who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis last year. And man, what a way to go out.
First, there was the standing ovation:
And then, the shootout.
Pretty classy gesture from the Flyers bench, too.
Pretty cool of the Flyers to give fist bumps to Bickell after his goal pic.twitter.com/l53s808IZ9— Brady Trettenero (@BradyTrett) April 10, 2017
Bickell was pretty emotional during the game. Can you imagine what the guy was thinking and feeling? Unreal:
