Labrador Retriever Puppies Are In Need Of Temporary Owners This Month

If you’ve ever wanted a puppy in your life but can’t commit to owning a dog forever, this is your new solution. You can foster puppies that will become guide dogs through the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides.

However, if you choose to become a foster family, you will be a part of the process of preparing the dog for their big job for a full year! You'll attend puppy classes once a month and train the puppy to learn basic skills. This includes taking the puppy out in social situations in its vest and helping teach the puppy how to behave in its adorable dog guide vest.

Right now, 25 Labrador Retriever puppies that are only seven weeks old will reportedly be ready to enter new foster homes within "the next two weeks" .

However, there's one catch:  the foundation is specifically looking for families that are close to Oakville. Examples being Toronto, Hamilton, Guelph and Niagara.

If you want to help out closer to home, you can foster a dog at ANY time through the Edmonton Humane Society!
