  • Two fun runs

    Two fun runs in the next couple of weeks. This Saturday, May 21st we are hosting a 24 hr ultra fun trail run at the provincial park in Wentworth. It is called “a day in Wentworth”. You can sign up at or register at the event itself. A portion of the profits will go to the Wentworth Library and the Community Hall. We have flagged a 4km loop through the woods that participants can run/walk/hike for 24 hrs. They can stop and start whenever they want. We are also hosting a fun run on Saturday, June 4th at the 0ld School House on Barkley Rd. in Wentworth. There will be a 5km route option through the trails of Wentworth as well as an 18 km route that will take participants to the highest peak in mainland Nova Scotia! Portion of the profits for this race are going to the Old Schoolhouse and the Wentworth Mountain bike association.     The North Shore Snowmobile Club is going to hold a live and silent auction on Saturday, June 4th at the Belly Up BBQ and Grill at 214 Robie Street , Truro from 2-4pm. Fund raising efforts are currently underway to build a multi purpose shed. This will be to store the groomer and will be available for community activities.     The Ukrainian Pantry will be held on Sunday, June 5th from 1pm to 4pm at the Masstown Market, Masstown. This is to receive and distribute non-perishable food supplies to Ukrainian families in need that are coming to Nova Scotia. They are looking for a variety of items from rice to pasta to oatmeal to salt and pepper. Look for the Uhaul decorated with the Ukrainian flags.
