Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee says he was drinking so much vodka last year that his new wife Brittany Furlan feared she would wake up to find him dead.

“She was like, ‘Baby, I don’t think I’ve ever even seen anybody drink that much. Like, you’re kind of scaring me,’” the 58-year-old rock star told Yahoo! Entertainment. “She was definitely concerned."

Lee, who said he had been sober for the previous four years, blamed his drinking on boredom. “I would just wake up and just build [a glass with] all vodka and just a little eyedropper of cranberry or lemonade,” he recalled. "I was drinking two gallons a day. That’s f**king crazy.

“I just realized, ‘Whoa dude, you’re drinking enough to like, you could probably die.’” He entered a treatment program a year ago this month. "It was time for me to pump the brakes."

Lee made the comments during an interview to promote his new album ANDRO, which features guest vocals by artists like Canada’s Lukas Rossi. It comes out Oct. 16.
