Prince may have died more than a year ago, but there are still ongoing legal battles to determine who should have lawful claims to his estate. He left no will after dying of an accidental overdose of painkillers.
Prince’s six siblings are now asking a Minnesota judge to rule all other claimants out, and name them the rightful heirs. And fast. The legal fees incurred by Prince’s estate due to these legal disputes, they argue, have been enormous.

The judge said he would take their request under advisement. Already many claimaints have come forward, all of which have been rejected by the judge. Attorneys for those claimaints have said that no heirs should be named until the appeals of all possible heirs are taken into consideration.
Recently, Prince’s former sound engineer, George Ian Boxill, tried to release a six-track EP of unreleased music, titled Deliverance. It was blocked by the estate, despite Boxill’s protests that it was legal because he never signed a non-disclosure agreement.
