A campaign is underway to get Stevie Nicks to work a breakfast shift at a McDonald’s in Fleetwood, a town in Lancashire, England.
A Facebook event page by Be Reet invites the Fleetwood Mac singer to work from 8 am to 11 am on Sept. 28. “Sell me fries, sell me sweet little fries,” it reads.
Be Reet has subsequently explained that if Nicks can’t make the shift, “we have some staff at Fleetwood McDonald's willing to swap their shifts.”
So far, thousands of Facebook users have shown their support – but there’s been no response from Nicks.
NME quoted a McDonald’s spokesperson as saying: “We’ve heard some rumours that Stevie Nicks might be keen to visit our own Fleetwood Macs. Next time she’s in the area we’d be delighted to welcome her for some sweet little fries before she goes her own way…”
Last summer, Be Reet made headlines when it set up a Facebook event page for a Nirvana reunion on Jan. 1, 2019 at the Nirvana Hair and Beauty Bar in Manchester, with Nickelback’s Chad Kroeger filling in for the late Kurt Cobain.
One person commented: “This needs to happen." Perhaps needless to say... it didn't.
