Taylor Swift is giving fans a taste of her re-recording of “Love Story” in a new match.com commercial produced by Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds’ company Maximum Effort.
“Okay so while my new re-records are NOT done, my friend @VancityReynolds asked me if he could use a snippet of one for a LOLsome commercial he wrote,” Swift tweeted Wednesday, “so...here’s a sneak peak of Love Story! Working hard to get the music to you soon!!”
The spot, filmed in New York City, shows a young woman named 2020 matching with the Devil and embarking on very 2020 dating adventures like hoarding toilet paper, taking a selfie in front of a dumpster fire and sitting in an empty stadium.
“I just don’t want this year to end,” Satan says, as a meteor shoots down from the sky. 2020 responds: “Who would?”

The original “Love Story” was released in 2008 as the debut single from Swift’s second studio album Fearless.
After Scott “Scooter” Braun purchased the rights to Swift’s early recordings, the pop star vowed to record new versions as soon as her contract allowed, in November. (Braun has since sold Swift’s early masters to Shamrock Holdings.)
Last month, Swift told GMA she had the most fun redoing “Love Story.”
She explained: “The older music, my voice was so teenaged and I sometimes, when I hear my older music and my older young teenage voice, it makes me feel like I’m a different singer now. So it’s been the most fun to re-record ones that I feel like I could actually possibly improve upon the song.”
