While Ariana Grande is singing about her exes in “thank u, next,” late night host James Corden is singing about one of his favourite guests.

In a parody of Grande’s smash hit on Wednesday’s episode of The Late Late Show, Corden paid tribute to actor Jeff Goldblum.

“First saw him in The Fly / Where his face was grotesque / Then he won independence from an alien mess,” Corden sings. “In Thor: Ragnarok his performance was classic / But who could forget the hot doctor that he played in Jurassic?”

Corden’s “thank u, jeff” spoofs many of the scenes in Grande’s video, which itself parodies classic teen rom-coms. The comedian performs on stage with dancers dressed as some of Goldblum’s iconic characters – while the actor himself videotapes from the audience (a la Kris Jenner’s spoof of Amy Poehler in Mean Girls).

Grande is a fan of Corden’s take on her hit. She tweeted: “omg...... may i please..... please for christmas have the thank u, jeff book? it’s for a friend. promise.”
