Ariana Grande and Drake are celebrating new chart records this week.

Grande’s new single “Positions” is at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 in its first week of release, making her the artist with the most No. 1 debuts in the 62-year history of the chart.

“thank u so much everyone for showing this song so much love,” Grande tweeted. “it is such an honor.”

The title track from her new album, “Positions” comes after the No. 1 debuts of “Rain on Me” (with Lady Gaga), “Stuck With U,” “7 Rings” and “Thank U Next.” It positions Grande even further ahead of artists like Mariah Carey, Travis Scott, Justin Bieber and Drake – who each have had three No. 1 debuts.

Grande is also the first artist to earn three No. 1 debuts on the Hot 100 in a single year since Drake in 2018.

The Hot 100 is based on U.S. streaming, radio airplay and sales data. The Nov. 7-dated chart was published Tuesday.

Drake, meanwhile, has surpassed legends like Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder to become the artist with the most tracks reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

The Canadian rap star’s “Laugh Now Cry Later” ft. Lil Durk is on top of the chart dated Nov. 7, which was published Tuesday. It is his 21st song to go to No. 1, beating Franklin and Wonder, who had 20.

There is, however, a caveat: Drake is the lead artist on only 12 of the 21 tracks. Franklin and Wonder are the leads on all 20 of theirs.

“Laugh Now Cry Later” is expected to be part of Drake’s new album Certified Lover Boy, out in January.
