Dua Lipa Explains Why She Uses Social Media 'In Bite Sizes'

Dua Lipa has said she keeps her mental health in check by using social media “in bite sizes.”

The 24-year-old pop star told Vogue: “Social media has always been around for my generation, so for me it’s really fun to post pictures, tweet and update. But I’ve also received a lot of backlash for talking about political things close to my heart.

“I’m not one to say sorry, I like to stand by things I believe in, so sometimes I delete the app so I don’t start second guessing myself. Trolls can very easily give you anxiety.”

Lipa said what keeps her on Twitter is the connection it gives her to fans.

“They’re the reason why I download the app again, so I can talk to them. It’s the foundation that we’ve built everything on,” she said.

Lipa also spoke to the magazine about the success of her self-titled debut album, which was released in 2017, and the pressure of making a follow-up.

“I just want to come back and make people proud,” she said.

“There’s only so much I can do. When I make music, I listen to it over and over again and when I do videos, I watch them over and over again. But the second it’s out in the world, it belongs to somebody else. That’s the way I see it."
