A 30-year old man is facing twelve charges after he evaded police following a collision in Westphal Monday.

Officers responded shortly before 6 p.m. to a report of a vehicle striking a parked car on Brookside Avenue and attempted to arrest the driver for impaired driving but he fled into the woods.

On Tuesday, police received a complaint that a vehicle had been stolen from Ross Road overnight, and the owner's credit card had been used, and were able to confirm the suspect was the same man who had evaded them the day before.

David Andrew Haislip was arrested by Halifax Regional Police on unrelated matters on Wednesday and turned over to the RCMP.

Police say his charges include impaired driving, escape lawful custody, possession of property obtained by crime and five counts of credit card fraud.
