A wet and windy day has led to more than 500 active power outages across Nova Scotia.
According to the Nova Scotia Power outage map, as of 9:55 am Saturday, there were 537 outages affecting nearly 122,000 NSP customers.
The utility had spent part of the week moving crews and infrastructure across the province to prepare for anticipated outages, due to Lee.
Now a powerful post-tropical cyclone, former hurricane Lee remains a very large and dangerous storm as it continues to move toward the Maritimes.
Much of Atlantic Canada remains under various weather statements, watches and warnings of high winds, heavy rain, and high coastal waves.
According to CTV Atlantic, the centre of the storm may make landfall near the border of Shelburne/Yarmouth counties in southwest Nova Scotia as early as Saturday afternoon.
