Carly Rae Jepsen scrambled on Friday to show that she took a crack at parodying the infamous “This Is Your Brain on Drugs” public service announcements.
The 33-year-old Canadian singer shot the egg-cellent spoof to promote her song “No Drug Like Me,” which is included on her May 17th album Dedicated.
Armed with an innocent egg and a skillet, Jepsen demonstrates what happens when you listen to “No Drug Like Me” – and the alleged effects the song has on your family, your self-respect, and your future.
Watching the pop star unleash several seconds of culinary carnage is almost cathartic.
The original “This Is Your Brain on Drugs” campaign by the Partnership for a Drug-Free America (how’s that working out? - ed.) was launched in 1987. The egg-meets-pan PSA starred John Roselius.
In 1997, the commercial was remade with Rachel Leigh Cook to focus on heroin. The PSA was remade in 2016 and again last year, with chef Todd Sugimoto, using an egg and frying pan to show the effects of cannabis on the brain.
