Contrary to numerous reports this weekend, CeeLo Green was not injured when a mobile device exploded next to his head.
A clip of what appeared to be CCTV footage surfaced Saturday showing Green inside a recording studio talking on a phone that suddenly explodes. Green falls off his chair and ends up face-down on the floor.
"CeeLo Green knocked unconcious by exploding phone," read one headline. "CeeLo Green injured when his cellphone explodes in his face," reported VH1.
Another online article, which has seen been deleted, was headlined: "CeeLo Green's Samsung phone supposedly exploded in his face."
Late Saturday, Green posted a video message on Facebook to explain.
"Listen, I just want to let everybody know that I am alive and I am well and I am OK," he said. "Truthfully I'm really upset that anybody had to be emotionally disturbed by what they saw."
Green said the clip is part of a video for his new project, Gnarly Davidson. "It's supposed to set-up and introduce the new character identity," he explained.
The singer-producer did not say how the video got released. "I just want to let y'all know that I'm OK. I just want to thank everybody for their love and support and concern.
"I've had a very difficult day dealing with everything. Y'all bear with me. Much love."
