Harry Styles fans are snapping up a candle they claim smells just like him – or, at least, a cheaper version of him.
Years ago, it was revealed that the British singer’s fragrance of choice is Tom Ford’s Tobacco Vanille, which sells for between $240 and $615 (all figures U.S.). Some fans figured the candle version, available for about $98, was a less expensive way to get the Styles scent in their homes.
Frugal fans, though, searched for alternatives and discovered that the Threshold Cashmere Vanilla jar candle, available at Target for $14.99, offered the same notes of Harry.
“The only reason i bought it is because it smells like Harry,” reads one of the reviews on the Target website. Another opined: “It smells really good and the fact that it smells like Harry Styles is amazing.”
Comments like these have caused the Threshold candles to sell out.
Styles, though, doesn’t seem to give a whiff about either candle. A dressing room photo he shared on Instagram in 2018 showed a flickering Diptyque Tubéreuse candle. (They’re available at Holt Renfrew and Nordstrom stores in Canada for between $49 and $92 CAD).
