Justin Bieber said Monday he will drop “a kick ass album”… after he has worked on his mental health.
In an Instagram post, the 25-year-old Canadian singer acknowledged that fans have been asking for a new album. Bieber hasn’t released an album since 2015’s Purpose.
“I’ve toured my whole teenage life, and early 20s, I realized,” wrote Bieber, “and as you guys probably saw I was unhappy last tour and I don’t deserve that and you don’t deserve that, you pay money to come and have a lively energetic fun light concert and I was unable emotionally to give you that near the end of the tour.”
Bieber said he has been “looking, seeking, trial and error as most of us do.”
He wrote: “I am now very focused on repairing some of the deep rooted issues that I have as most of us have, so that I don’t fall apart, so that I can sustain my marriage and be the father I want to be.”
Bieber said music remains very important to him – “but Nothing comes before my family and my health.”
He vowed to put out an album as soon as possible and boasted “my swag is undeniable and my drive is indescribable.”
Earlier this month, Bieber admitted in an Instagram post that he has been “struggling a lot” and “feeling super disconnected and weird.”
He shared: “I always bounce back so I’m not worried just wanted to reach out and ask for your guys to pray for me. God is faithful and ur prayers really work thanks .. the most human season I’ve ever been in facing my stuff head on.”
According to sources, Bieber has been receiving treatment for depression at the Amen Clinic in Costa Mesa, California.
Bieber’s wife Hailey recently shared an Instagram live video of the singer going to sleep inside a hyperbaric oxygen chamber. On its website, Amen Clinics claims hyperbaric oxygen therapy can help people “struggling with a mental condition” and that patients have reported reduced depression and irritability.
In an interview with Vogue published in February, Bieber admitted that he was “depressed” and “lonely” on his Purpose tour.
“My mom was depressed a lot of my life and my dad has anger issues,” Bieber revealed. “Stuff that they passed on that I’m kind of mad they gave me.”
