Glenn Frey of the Eagles died one year ago today and, along with his fans, many musicians still feel the loss.
To remember his friend, Bob Seger has posted a free track called "Glenn Song."
Seger spoke to Rolling Stone about the song. "It's obviously not meant to be a hit,” he explained.
“There’s no chorus per se or title section or anything. The idea was just to honour his memory and talk, very specifically, about my impression of him in 1966 when we first met.”
Seger added: "I hope 'Glenn Song' doesn't make his wife Cindy cry, but it probably will."
Last year, following Frey’s death, Seger wrote: “He was a great kid. I always kind of thought of him as my baby brother, a little bit. He was f***ing brilliant. He was a joy to be around. I always looked forward to seeing him. It was always memorable. He had an amazing sense of humour and was just smart, whip-smart."
