Canadian actors Finn Wolfhard and Malcolm Craig are making their debut as the Aubreys with “Getting Better (otherwise),” a song from the soundtrack to Wolfhard’s new movie The Turning.
The 17-year-olds made up half of Vancouver indie band Calpurnia, which announced its break-up last November.
“We are extremely grateful for the support we’ve received over the past few years,” the band shared on Instagram at the time. “What seemed to us like an unimaginable reality came to be, and we have been thrilled to share the ride with you.”
The Aubreys’ debut song was produced by Lawrence Rothman.
“I’ve been blasting this song on repeat ever since he recorded it,” The Turning director Floria Sigismondi, who grew up in Ontario, wrote on Instagram. “Love love love it.”
The film and its soundtrack album will be released Jan. 24.
Wolfhard, who is best known for his roles on Stranger Things and the made-in-Ontario It flicks, will also be seen in this summer’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife, directed by Montreal-born Jason Reitman.
