In a fascinating video created by Vanity Fair, Billie Eilish reflects on her journey from rising music artist to global superstar.
The magazine compiled Eilish’s responses to the same questions in each of the past three years and shared the now nearly 18-year-old’s reactions to her younger selves.
“My skin was so bad,” Eilish said after watching a clip of her 2018 interview. “Look, I’m glowing now! My skin got better!”
She also shared how her views on fame have evolved. “I like being famous,” Eilish said in this year’s interview, which was recorded Oct. 18. “It’s very weird but it’s very cool … I’m so done with complaining about it for so long.”
In her 2017 interview, Eilish revealed that one of the most famous numbers in her phone is Khalid’s. Now, it’s Drake’s.
“Drake is like the nicest dude I’ve ever spoken to. I mean, I’ve only texted him, but he’s so nice,” she said. “He does not need to be nice. You know what I mean? He’s at a level in his life where he doesn’t need to be nice, but he is.”
Eilish called out her 16-year-old self for claiming not to have a boyfriend. “I actually did then,” she admitted. “I still have so much love for the person I was with then.” Today? Eilish insists she's single.
