Ed Sheeran has quit Twitter, according to a report.

The singer reportedly told UK’s The Sun that he is no longer putting up with abuse from trolls.

“I’ve actually come off Twitter completely. I can’t read it,” he said.

“I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. Twitter’s a platform for that.”

Sheeran complained that “one comment ruins your day” and said “trying to work out why people dislike me so much” has been a “head-f***.”

In 2016, Sheeran took a hiatus from social media completely.

The singer’s Twitter feed will reportedly be populated by automatically-generated posts from his Instagram. The last tweet that may have come from Sheeran ("That's not the end of the stadium tour, watch this space x") was on June 28.

He told the Sun: “I don’t need people calling me a whatever.”
